MySQL

MySQL is a database management sstem that provides multi-user access. It is used for many web applications, e.g. blogging scripts like FanUpdate or WordPress.

Creating a Database with cPanel

Log into your C-Panel account. Once you have logged in click the 'MySQL Databases' icon.

Under the 'Create New Database' heading type in a name for your new database and click "Create Database". A confirmation page will show up and tell you that your new database was added. The database name is cPanelusername_databasename.

Creating a Username with cPanel

Return to the "MySQL Databases" and in the "Current Databases" heading select "Create Users" in the newly-made database's row. A "MySQL Users" page should show up with user information textareas.

Fill in the boxes with an desired username and password. Make sure your newly-made database is selcted under "Database". Once you have completed thos steps, click "Sumbit". You should now see another confirmation page.
